  INSPECTION ACTIVITIES, RELATED TO SAFEGUARDING OF WORKING CONDITIONS AND OTHER EMPLOYMENT GUARANTEES FOR POSTED WORKERS

Latvia is to the other MS between the EU Member States, which is characterized by posting of workers to the other MS than received them.

The Latvian workers are usually assigned to the Scandinavian countries (Norway, Sweden, Finland), as well as Germany, Belgium, France. Most of these assignments affect employees who work in the construction industry;

Posted workers mostly from Latvia and Estonia come to Latvia. For example, un usually work at the construction sites teams from the Republic of Lithuania, or Estonia, Latvian and Estonian workers in the border area. It is practically impossible, because to catch these workers in 2, 3 hours they return to their home country.

Overall, the posted worker control has not yet established an effective control mechanism, except for participation in the IMI pilot project that can be considered a precursor to set the framework within which to make rapid and effective control of the transmitted field staff.
